Lymphoedema Christmas Presents
There is no bad time to give back, but there is something about the festive season that puts people in a charitable mood. Fortunately, there’s a category of Christmas present that allows you to be charitable, while also getting something your loved one will enjoy: presents that give back.
These presents do a little something to give back to some charitable cause or nonprofit; they help share a little generosity, so by giving them, you’re giving back, too. And when your friend or family member learns that their new gift also helped someone else, they’ll be doubly pleased by it.
Here at LymphActiv we have had our festive elves scour the internet to find the best gifts that also support Lymphoedema and Lipedema treatment in some ways:
1. Aqua by Gemma Levine
Gemma’s latest book, Aqua captures beautiful photographs centered around the theme of Water. As Gemma puts it: ‘During these most difficult times of striving to survive the current global virus ‘Covid 19’ I decided to concentrate on a simple book of photographs related to the theme of ‘water’. The retention of water forms a major element of the debilitating condition of lymphoedema which many of us suffer from and learn to live with but for which there is as yet no cure’. Even better, all proceeds go to Lymphoedema research, in partnership with St George’s Hospital Charity.
2. Season’s Greetings Christmas Cards
These fantastically festive season’s greetings cards support Lymphoedema research, in partnership with St George’s Hospital Charity to raise awareness and funds. Cards can be purchased in packs of 10 for £10. This card is graciously supported by Dame Judi Dench.
3. Super Nan and the Secret Support Network Book
The Lymphoedema Support Network have published this delightful book from one of their members, Michelle Freke. The book follows the reality of a lovely, lively woman living with extreme lymphoedema and the questions that can arise when children see affected limbs for the first time. People with lymphoedema can often be faced with questions that are difficult to answer and even harder to explain to the very young. This book is here to help you with those tricky questions, written in SuperHero style, it will really appeal to those younger children you may have in your lives. All proceeds from the sale of this book will go to the LSN to help them continue the valuable work they do.
We hope you’ve found our small list useful. Please do let us know if you come across any other gifts and we’ll be happy to add them!
